09-08-10 Talent Academy A Huge Success

Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield, Hallam FM and Harmony Music School invited children of all ages and ability to take part in free musical workshops during August.

The musical workshops were part of Meadowhall and Hallam FM’s Summer Talent Academy, a FREE five week-long event, aimed at encouraging children to discover their hidden talents.

Budding musicians could try their hand at playing the guitar, keyboards, singing and music technology and production with the help of Harmony Music School.

Aubrey Robinson, Managing Director of Harmony Music School, said:
“In addition to improving creativity, learning music cultivates many skills that will continue to be useful to children throughout their lives. We have found that music can have the ability to increase confidence and coordination in children as well as making them more aware of their own abilities. We are very excited about been part of this summer’s Talent Academy and are confident that we will find some great talent in the process.”
